Important Changes in 2014

As some of our friends and valued guests have found, both airlines that fly between Prince George and Vancouver are changing their flights frequently and making it increasingly difficult for guests to meet their early afternoon connecting flights to Prince George. This situation is not going away any time soon and it is possibly impacting the overall experience you have learned to enjoy at Crescent Spur.

Having a Blast

We decided that it was time to find our own solution. After much research and consideration, we came up with a plan which we then put past a large sampling of our guests. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Not only will this solution address the arrival transfers to the lodge, it will also give you more skiing and time with your friends. These changes (outlined below) will be in effect beginning in the 2014 season.

6 Day/7 Night Packages:

  • All guests arriving through Vancouver will stay as our guest at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport on the Friday night before your package. This complimentary room is included in the price of your package. This means you will need to fly into Vancouver on Friday; however, you may be able to get a late flight to Vancouver such as LAX’s 7:30pm.
  • Fly to Prince George Saturday morning to meet a designated mid-morning pick-up time. For example, using the 2013 schedule, WestJet flight 907 departs Vancouver at 08:45, arrives PG 09:53. We would pick everyone up at 09:53, grab luggage and be in Crescent Spur for a hot lunch.
  • After lunch, guests will go through the complete safety orientation (video and outside practise) and ski set-up making us “ski-ready” on Sunday morning.
  • You would have the rest of the afternoon to relax, unpack and enjoy your vacation.
  • SUNDAY MORNING start skiing first thing. So more skiing, more powder, and more fun.
  • Please note: Guests who are driving themselves need to be in Crescent Spur by noon.

5 Day/6 Night Packages beginning on Sunday:

  • All guests arriving through Vancouver will stay as our guest at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport on the Saturday night before your package. This complimentary room is included in the price of your package. This means you will need to fly into Vancouver on Saturday.
  • Fly to Prince George Sunday morning to meet a designated mid-morning pick-up time. For example, using the 2013 schedule, Air Canada flight 8203 departs Vancouver at 10:20, arrives PG 11:44. We would pick everyone up at 11:44, grab luggage and be in Crescent Spur for a hot lunch.
  • After lunch, guests will go through the complete safety orientation (video and outside practise). You would have the rest of the afternoon to relax, unpack and enjoy your vacation.
  • MONDAY MORNING start skiing first thing. So more skiing, more powder, and more fun.
  • Please note: Guests who are driving themselves need to be in Crescent Spur by 2:00pm.

Smiles All Around

The benefits of this new policy are:

  • Everyone arrives at the same time allowing everyone the afternoon together to get to know one another (or catch up), have lunch and dinner together, and to be rested and ready for the holiday (this is nice, especially for new-comers)
  • Ski set-up and safety orientation is all done on the arrival day, allowing us to ski a full day on the first ski day, rather than an abbreviated day.
  • Gives more time for error with delayed flights, missing luggage (as we know this can happen occasionally), etc.

We hope that you are as excited as we are with the improvements to our arrival schedule! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
